Bouwland - Urgenda

At SHARE 2009 foundation Bouwland in cooperation with Urgenda will present a series of concepts how to make the bigger region of Schiphol sustainable. In the region housing, greenhouses and industrial buildings expanded rapidly in the last decades. The growth of Schiphol gave this area a big economical boost. As quality of life is diminution and the economical crisis slowed down the boost it is time to rethink and replan this area’s economy in a sustainable long lasting gain. LapLab was asked to create this new vision with local and national experts. The presentation will be on the 30th of March at the expo of the Haarlemmermeer.

Competition for a autarkic floating house in the city.

Click your own floating autarkic house together that perfectly fits your with style of living. The four building blocks are kitchen, bathroom, sleep and the living. Depending on the unique needs of the future resident a house configuration can be chosen. The heat and electricity is generated by solar installations. The sun is the source. Water is cleaned and by a complex system of filters of which one is tubular line with plants that clean the water with the bacteria growing on the roots. The air inside the house is cleaner then the air outside because of green walls that continuously filter air and enrich the air with oxygen.
