On the first of January 2009 LAP Landscape & Urban Design was founded by Sander Lap. LAP specializes in Landscape and Urban design. We see no borders between the landscape, the urban and the architecture discipline. In the gradient between disciplines we find often the greatest win. From the small public space objects to the large scale planning we seek to find the opportunities. Living and working in and on the Dutch Metropole we are confronted with the sprawl landscape metropolis. Contemporary we meet the challenge of economical, ecological and social crisis with the additional changes caused by shrinkage of population, decreasing life standards and climate change. In the LapLab we intensify design with combinations of the local with the knowledge of the historic and the global movements. We believe that sustainability is essential part of the urban efficiency and it starts by organizing peoples life on the scale of their neighborhood. Pragmatical thinking combined with the inspiration of creating Vital PlaceS® marks our design.
